Evan Howell is a science writer based in Colorado. Raised in the mountains of Western North Carolina, Evan was drawn to the outdoors at an early age, exploring the moss-covered woods and farmland near his childhood home.

After spending nearly a decade working as a line and prep chef in the restaurant industry, Evan obtained a Master’s degree in Geology. Research from his thesis was published in multiple academic journals. This work led to over a decade as a Senior Geologist for several energy companies in Texas and Colorado.

Today, he writes and conducts interviews about a diverse array of subjects, from earth science to economics, and even a bit of fiction. When not writing, one will find Evan out rock climbing, exploring with his wife and dog, or complaining about third-person bios.
